javacpc 6.6.4 released

, September 3rd, 2009

Markus has released an updated version of the open source Amstrad CPC emulator package, JavaCPC. JavaCPC powers the Amstrad CPC Online Arcade at one of my other websites, girv dot net.

Version 6.6.4 of JavaCPC brings the following changes:

  • Compatible with latest version of Java
  • Added configurable tape polarity (required for some strange tapes)
  • Added a (simple) GIF-Recorder
  • Added Prodatron’s Digitracker MOD Converter and Player Generator as internal applications
  • Added breakpoint control and Break Instructions to debugger
  • Improved CRTC emulation (allows the demo “From Scratch” by Vanity to work)
  • Improved screenshot routine (also captures the the filter and monitor mask)
  • Improved display filter
  • Improved green screen emulation
  • Bugfix in FDC emulation (allows loading of images from ConvImgCPC)
  • Window position is stored on exit

The screenshots below show the “From Scratch” demo in operation. The effects highlighted only work properly on a real Amstrad CPC, and of course now on JavaCPC too!

You can also watch the complete “From Scratch” on CPC Live (requires Java), including the effects that cannot be seen on any of the existing emulators or YouTube videos of the demo.

For more details on this latest release of JavaCPC, see the official release notice or download JavaCPC from SourceForge.
