9 fingers pre-production footage

, , February 8th, 2008

9 Fingers” is a classic Amiga demo from Spaceballs, its major claim to fame being its 4th place at The Party 1993 competition. A minor claim to fame is that the module used as it’s soundtrack – “testlast” – is probably one of my favourite Amiga tunes ever and one of the select few I keep on my mp3 player for ready access. Big high fives to the composer.

The main part of the demo features vector traced animations of real life dancers, and now the raw video tape footage that was used to create the animations has been posted on You Tube! It’s quite funny and a fascinating insight into the pre-production stages of one of the most widely recognised Amiga demos.

Watch the pre-production footage and final demo here:

If nothing else, you gotta admire those 90’s fashions!
